The disappearance of Deirdre Jacob would be the last connected to the Vanishing Triangle. Aside from the eight cases mentioned above, there were at least five more within the same time frame. Those cases, however, have a conclusion. The victim’s bodies were found, raped, beaten, and strangled. The eight missing women likely met a similar fate.

But who is responsible for this terrible spree? Is there a serial killer at work here or are these cases unconnected, other than by proximity? The Gardai are inclined to believe that at least some of the crimes are the work of a single individual. They think they know who that individual is.
